The middle school affiliated to Wulanchabu City was founded in 1960, and was once one of the first key middle schools in the autonomous region, directly under the Education Bureau of Wulanchabu City. 1978, its subordinate middle school was identified as one of the first batch of 18 key middle schools in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and it was the only key middle school located in a township in the whole region.
