There are eight categories of applicants: literature, history, philosophy and law, education, science and engineering, science and engineering, agriculture and forestry, biomedicine, medicine, economics and management, and art. Candidates can only apply for 1 category. Among them, candidates applying for medical courses must be fresh graduates of medical related majors, and candidates applying for art courses must be fresh graduates of art related majors. When filling in volunteers, some majors must also meet the specific requirements stipulated in the enrollment regulations of undergraduate colleges and universities. The undergraduate major of retired college student soldier candidates should generally correspond to the higher vocational (junior college) major they are studying.
