As of July, 20021year, there was no Anhui Jiaotong University, only Anhui Communications Vocational and Technical College.

Anhui Vocational and Technical College of Communications is a public full-time ordinary college specializing in transportation, a provincial-level demonstration vocational college and a national backbone vocational college, which is affiliated to the Anhui Provincial Department of Transportation.

The College was established in June, 20001year by the merger of the former Anhui University Traffic Branch and Anhui Traffic School, and co-located with Anhui Traffic Cadre School. Anhui University Jiaotong Branch 1988 Approved by the Ministry of Education; Anhui Communications School was founded in 1956, and 1958 was upgraded to Anhui Communications College. Anhui Traffic Cadre School was established in 1988.

Present situation of school

The teaching institutions of the college include 7 departments 1 department, including Civil Engineering Department, Automobile and department of mechanical engineering Department, Urban Rail Transit and Information Engineering Department, Management Engineering Department, Navigation Department, Arts and Sciences Department, Foundation Department and Adult Education Department. There are six research institutes, including Education Institute, Road and Bridge Engineering Institute, Management Engineering Institute, Comprehensive Transportation Institute, Engineering Immigration Institute and Computer Application Institute.

Vocational skill appraisal institutions include four vocational skill training workstations directly under the Ministry of Communications and vocational skill appraisal institutes directly under the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.

At present, the college has 44 enrollment and filing majors, covering eight categories, including transportation, civil construction and equipment manufacturing 17 majors. It has formed five characteristic specialty groups, including transportation and civil construction, automobile application technology, urban rail transit, modern circulation service and water transportation, including 10 national key construction specialty, reform pilot specialty and demonstration specialty, provincial and ministerial key specialty and comprehensive reform pilot specialty.
