1. Is there a big difference between subject evaluation B and C?
A: Generally speaking, there is still a certain gap between B and C.
Of course, it's not that C is not good. In fact, there is a hierarchical relationship between ABC rankings. Subject A is the representative of top universities in China, subject B is the representative of high-level universities in China, and subject C is also not weak. Universities that can be ranked in C are also very good nationwide.
Class B disciplines are located at the level of 65,438+00% ~ 40% in national universities, and Class C disciplines are located at the level of 40%~70% in the country. Although all disciplines are not required to participate in the evaluation in the discipline evaluation of the Ministry of Education, it is rated as BC discipline, ranking very high among all disciplines in colleges and universities in China.
Class C is the lowest ranked subject, but it does not mean that this subject is the worst. According to the fourth round of discipline evaluation, it is not difficult to find that even the universities rated as C disciplines are the key concerns of all provinces, and those ordinary two or even three universities are not qualified to participate in discipline evaluation at all.
In fact, subject evaluation cannot fully represent the quality of a major. Generally speaking, the higher the professional subject evaluation, the stronger the professional strength; However, it is not only academic strength that affects professional quality, but also the degree of heat and cold, employment prospects and so on. This is also the reason why many parents and candidates are more accustomed to using scores to judge the quality of a university major.
Second, what does the subject evaluation abc mean?
For the first time, the fourth round of subject evaluation published the evaluation results in a "grading" way, and did not publish scores and rankings, nor did it emphasize the difference of fine scores between units and before and after ranking. The method of scoring by percentage system is adopted. According to the ranking percentile of "overall level score of disciplines", the top 70% of disciplines are divided into 9 grades and published:
File A: the first 2% (or the first 2%) is A+, 2% ~ 5% is A (excluding 2%, the same below), and 5% ~ 10% is A-;
File B: 10% ~ 20% is B+, 20% ~ 30% is B, and 30% ~ 40% is B-;
File C: 40% ~ 50% is C+, 50% ~ 60% is C, and 60% ~ 70% is C-.
Because many candidates and parents tend to refer to the rankings when choosing universities, there is no official ranking in China at present, and some "folk" rankings are very watery, so the subject evaluation of the Ministry of Education can be said to be the most recognized university ranking in the hearts of many candidates and parents at present.
