The Significance and Prospect of VR Virtual Reality in Education -2020-09-20
As a new means of education and teaching, VR is bound to have its existence value. From the earliest blackboard, to the new media classroom, and now to VR, every means has its own problems to achieve the goals that could not be achieved in the past.

The value of VR+ education has four aspects.

First, improve learning efficiency. The research results of relevant institutions show that the teaching efficiency of single media teaching forms, such as words or pictures, is about 10%; The efficiency of multimedia teaching forms is about 30%; The efficiency of highly immersive media, such as VR teaching, reaches 70%. It can be seen that VR can greatly improve teaching efficiency and learning efficiency.

Second, reduce the cost of education. Using VR in experimental teaching and replacing some experiments with VR can reduce the cost of actual experiments at present. In the process of educational experiment, we will encounter all kinds of scarce resources, especially the human resources of medical specialty. Not every student has enough resources to use at every stage. In VR teaching, irreversible problems can be repeatedly operated and analyzed by VR during the experiment.

Third, avoid the safety risk of experimental operation. Many experiments in chemistry teaching involve corrosive, toxic and explosive liquids or solids. Using VR to experiment can greatly reduce the risk in the experiment.

Fourth, improve learning interest and motivation. The immersion, presence and interest of VR can present boring knowledge in a vivid and interesting way, which greatly improves students' enthusiasm for learning.

From the four values of VR technology for education, it is not difficult to find that VR education is suitable for experimental centers, universities, vocational schools, technical schools, research institutes, K 12, training institutions, museums, cultural centers and some educational bases, and the disciplines are more suitable for natural science, human history, language, physics, chemistry, art, biology, medical care, machinery, automobile maintenance and other majors.
