Under the leadership of the Ministry of Education, the Open Examination Service Center is responsible for organizing and implementing the national unified examination for some public basic courses of online education in pilot universities. Unified examination implements a unified national outline, unified examination questions and unified standards. The subjects of the examination are the undergraduate network education students in pilot universities and the undergraduate education students in the "Pilot Project of Talent Training Mode Reform and Open Education" of Central Radio and TV University.

The unified examination subjects are College English (A, B, C), College Chinese (A, B), Advanced Mathematics (A, B) and Computer Application Foundation, in which the computer application foundation course is completely in the form of computer (network) examination, and other subjects are in the form of conventional paper-and-pencil examination. By the end of 2006, nearly 1.23 million person-times had been organized, including 600,000 person-times who took the computer (network) exam, and the number and scale of candidates who took the computer (network) exam set a record for the online education exam.

Cambridge English Teaching Ability Certificate (TKT) is a certificate test specially developed and designed for English teachers by ESOL (English for Other Language Users) Examination Center of Cambridge University Examination Committee.
