A brief introduction to the types and main characteristics of Westernization School.
A: Westernization schools can be roughly divided into three categories: dialect schools, military schools and technical schools. The main features are as follows: (1) These schools are case-run, lacking the overall national planning and education system, unable to form their own system, and can only be regarded as a supplement to feudal traditional education. (2) They are all professional technical schools, mainly focusing on foreign languages and military affairs, which embodies narrow practicality. (3) Maintain the management tradition of the old official school, but the power is mostly controlled by foreigners. (4) Learning Confucian classics while learning western language arts. Despite these limitations, Westernization School is the earliest modern school run by China people, which has trained a group of talents with professional knowledge and technology and modern new ideas, and initially possessed the characteristics of modern education.
