Of the 100 demonstration bases announced this time, 19 reflect the long history and culture of the Chinese nation, 9 reflect the imperialist aggression suffered by China in modern times and the heroic struggle of our people against aggression, and 75 reflect the revolutionary struggle and socialist construction of the people in modern China.

On June 1 day, 2006, Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China announced the second batch of 100 patriotic education demonstration bases with the glorious history of the Party as the main content.

In May 2009, Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China announced the fourth batch of 87 national demonstration bases for patriotism education, aiming at further promoting the construction of patriotism education bases, giving better play to the role of patriotism education bases, carrying out mass patriotic education activities in depth, inspiring patriotic enthusiasm, rallying people's hearts and cultivating national spirit.
