Behavior, thinking, education. Bruner's theory of cognitive discovery was put forward by American psychologist Jerome Bruner in his book Behavior, Thinking and Education (1966). This book has a profound influence on cognitive psychology and educational psychology, including Bruner's view of "discovery learning", that is, students actively construct knowledge and understanding by exploring and discovering problems.
