How to improve the pertinence, strengthen and improve the ideological and political education of college students is the historical and contemporary mission that ideological and political workers in colleges and universities must undertake. 1. Reality: The problem of improving the pertinence of college students' ideological and political education is put forward. Under the new situation, great changes have taken place in the task, content, environment and object of ideological and political education for college students. Over the years, with the joint efforts of ideological and political educators, ideological and political education in colleges and universities has achieved remarkable results, summed up and explored many successful experiences, but there are also some outstanding problems, mainly manifested in weak pertinence and poor results. Educators pay little attention to college students' current moral development level and realistic ideological needs, and deliberately instill too many conceptual things into students. Coupled with the lack of vividness and pertinence in educational content and outdated educational methods, college students don't want to listen. They always feel that ideological and political education is too far away from reality and cannot achieve the expected results. In 2004, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued Opinions on Further Strengthening and Improving Ideological and Political Education for College Students (hereinafter referred to as Opinions). The Opinions profoundly discusses the importance and urgency of strengthening and improving the ideological and political education of college students at present, clearly puts forward the guiding ideology, basic principles and main tasks of strengthening and improving the ideological and political education of college students, and systematically expounds the methods and ways to strengthen and improve the ideological and political education of college students. It is a programmatic document guiding the ideological and political education of college students under the new historical conditions. The opinion clearly pointed out that to further strengthen and improve the ideological and political education of college students, we must strive to emancipate our minds, seek truth from facts, keep pace with the times, adhere to people-oriented, close to reality, close to life and close to students, strive to improve the pertinence, effectiveness, attraction and appeal of ideological and political education, and cultivate qualified socialist builders and successors with all-round development in morality, intelligence, physique and beauty. In the above requirements, the author believes that to do a good job in ideological and political education for college students, it is especially necessary to correctly understand and effectively improve the pertinence of ideological and political education. Second, the target value: improving the basic connotation of the pertinence of ideological and political education for college students is the goal and goal of ideological and political education, that is, ideological and political educators should fully consider the changes in the actual situation of ideological and political education and the characteristics of the educational objects in the process of implementing education, and implement different forms and contents of education because of the differences in the situation of the educated, so as to make ideological and political education targeted, prescribe the right medicine, seek the actual effect of education, and highlight the clear target value. The ideological and political education of college students should be based on the reality of higher education and the characteristics of college students, and dialectically analyze and understand the comprehensive influence of reform, opening up and market economy on college students with Marxist epistemology. Focusing on the issues that college students are generally concerned about, especially some social hot spots, difficulties, doubts and issues related to college students' interests, we should adhere to the principle of seeking truth from facts and the spirit of "emancipating our minds, seeking truth from facts and keeping pace with the times", earnestly carry out ideological and political education for college students, improve the scientificity and effectiveness of ideological and political work, and enhance the pertinence of ideological and political education. The new background of the times and the new ideological situation of college students have put forward new missions and requirements for colleges and universities to carry out ideological and political education for college students. Under the premise of clear guiding ideology, colleges and universities should choose appropriate educational methods and methods according to different educational objects, clear educational objectives, complex educational contents and specific background of the times, innovate the working ideas, modes and ways of ideological and political education for college students, and cultivate high-quality successors for socialist modernization. Ideological and political education of college students should always focus on the above objectives. On the basis of adhering to the above objectives, we should also formulate specific micro-level educational objectives for different educational objects in different periods and stages. Only in this way can we realize the unity of "foresight" and "hierarchy" of ideological and political education for college students and avoid the blindness and disorder of ideological and political education for college students. (III) Contents of Targeted Education The contents of ideological and political education for college students are very complicated, including education on ideals and beliefs, theory with China characteristics, world outlook, outlook on life, values, stability and unity, and entrepreneurship. In the process of ideological and political education for college students, the educational content should be closely linked with the educational object and the reality of real life. First of all, different educational objects have different ideological problems. In view of these problems, our educational content should also be different, and it should not and cannot be the same. Many educational contents in the past are no longer applicable today. Finally, there is a problem of choosing the content of ideological and political education, that is, how to choose the content that students need most urgently, can touch their souls and can solve their practical problems best. This is a problem that we must pay attention to. In the process of college students' ideological and political education, to really solve students' ideological problems, we must first find the crux of students' thoughts. Only in this way can we "prescribe the right medicine" and get practical results. Therefore, the content of our ideological and political education should be constantly innovated and improved. This kind of innovation and perfection should not only reflect the advanced nature of subject value orientation, but also reflect the extensive requirements of social reality. Generally speaking, its content should adapt to the changing ideological reality of college students in different periods and under different circumstances, closely follow the pulse of students' thoughts and be targeted. (D) The times of education, ideological and political education of college students must fully reflect the times. The so-called "era" refers to the historical inevitability, realistic selectivity and dynamic generation of a thing's development. The pertinence of ideological and political education for college students means that ideological and political education should firmly grasp the pulse of the times, reflect the requirements of the times, and show or guide the direction of the times. The ideological and political education of college students must keep pace with the times, adapt to the characteristics of social life and the basic characteristics of college students' ideological and political quality, and strive to keep pace with the times. Only in this way can our ideological and political education have vitality and vigor. However, due to their lack of practice and experience, they are often easily influenced by various theoretical thoughts and emotions, coupled with the infiltration and influence of social environment, forming a diversified value orientation. The coexistence, communication and collision of various ideological concepts and moral norms have caused the ideological and moral pluralism of college students. Although college students live in a relatively pure campus, they are always in contact with society and feel the society in all directions with their own hearts. To do a good job in their ideological education, we must deeply understand their wishes and needs, master their ideological trends, understand what they are thinking, afraid of, looking forward to, agreeing with and opposing, overcome the long-standing "platitudes" and "slogans" unrealistic and divorced from students' needs in ideological and political education, and carry out targeted education according to the actual needs of college students to realize the leading role of teaching. The so-called "leading" means that educators play a controlling role in the implementation of students' ideological and political education. Educators shoulder the special responsibility of shaping people's souls and improving people's quality, especially ideological and political quality, edify students' thoughts with their own words and deeds, influence students' behaviors, regulate students' growth, and guide students to truly become qualified builders and reliable successors of social justice with China characteristics. Deng Xiaoping pointed out: "Whether a school can train qualified talents for socialist construction and whether it can train educated workers with all-round development in morality, intelligence and physique and socialist consciousness depends on teachers." Although college students have certain rational thinking ability, they lack social experience and theoretical literacy, so they need guidance and promotion when analyzing and dealing with problems. Therefore, teachers' own ideological and moral quality has a certain infiltration to the cultivation of students' thoughts, morality, values and behavior habits, and teachers' theoretical level directly affects students' rational thinking ability and theoretical basis. In ideological and political education, if the "arrow" is really "right", then the "bow and arrow" must be excellent. To this end, we must be more aware that the challenges given to us by the times are unprecedented.
