The School of Earth Sciences of Chengdu University of Technology is one of the oldest backbone colleges in the school, with a glorious history of nearly a hundred years. Its predecessor was the Department of Geology of Chongqing University, which was founded in 1929. 1956 Based on the Department of Geology of Chongqing University, integrating some teachers and students from Beijing Institute of Geology, Changchun Institute of Geology, Northwest University and Nanjing University, the Department of Geological Survey and Prospecting of Chengdu Geological Exploration Institute was established, which is one of the oldest key departments in the school. The late famous geologists, Bi, Li Chengsan, Chang Longqing, Liu Zuyi, Wu, Zhou Xiaohe, Hu, Zhang, Bian, etc. They are all academic leaders in the founding period of the department. 1983 established the Department of Geology and the Department of Geology and Mineral Exploration (1993 was renamed the Department of Resource Economics, referred to as the Department of Resource Economics). In 2002, the College of Earth Sciences was established. After more than 80 years of development, it has become the most complete and powerful teaching and research base of geoscience in western China. 1
