Stem course is a comprehensive course. Stem is a synthesis of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. This kind of synthesis is not a simple collection and patchwork, but around a problem or project, using multidisciplinary knowledge to solve the problem, so it is a comprehensive project learning. In such a comprehensive project learning, students' stem literacy is formed by using science, technology, engineering, mathematics and other knowledge. In the 1980s, the emergence of stem education originated from the reflection on the lack of scientific and technological talents in the United States. They try to make primary and secondary school students have stem literacy through stem education, and lay the foundation for them to be interested in and have scientific and technological innovation literacy. Their goals are to encourage students to major in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, "increase the number of students studying for advanced stem degrees or joining stem-related occupations", increase investment in science, technology, engineering and mathematics education, and "increase the labor force with stem ability".
