2. French study visa category

1. Short-term student visa

/kloc-under the age of 0/8, registered institutions do not belong to the category of institutions of higher learning (especially middle schools) or stay in France for no more than 3 months, which can be handled directly through the French Consulate in China.

Long-term residence student visa (more than 3 months) or examination visa must participate in the pre-visa procedure of French higher education institutions.

2. Long-term student visa

Studying in France for more than 6 months requires a long-term student visa. Long-term visas will be marked with the words "college students", and the validity period is between six months and one year, and the longest is no more than one year.

It should be noted that the long-term student visa itself does not have the effect of residence. Therefore, students studying in France can apply for visa activation online or at the local immigration office within 3 months of their first arrival in France, and they must show their long-term student visas when doing so.

After studying in France for one year, students studying in France can extend their residence permit.

3. Temporary long-term residence visa

If you go to France to study French, you need to reach a certain level of French to get a visa. But without a foundation in French, what about students who want to study languages in France? At this time, you can apply for a temporary long-term student visa (VLST).

Generally speaking, for 3-6 months of language study, you need to apply for a visa through a French higher education institution to obtain a temporary long-term residence visa (non-renewable). It should be noted that this visa can only be used for the purpose of simply learning a language. During this period, students are not allowed to take courses of other majors, and they are required to apply as adults.

Unlike long-term student visas, students with temporary long-term residence visas must return to China after language study, and cannot directly apply for extension. Even if you want to continue studying in France, you need to go back to China to apply for a student visa.

Of course, students applying for such visas do not need to provide French test scores when they participate in the interview evaluation.

4. Examination visa

The longest examination visa is no more than 90 days, which is mainly applicable to short-term students studying in France who go to France to take competitive examinations or exams.

After passing the exam and being admitted to a French university, you can get a long-term student visa without going back to your country of origin. If French universities require students to take preparatory courses or supplementary courses before final admission, they can also issue "student-oriented visas".

When applying for a visa, it should be decided according to the actual situation and the purpose of studying abroad, and must not be confused! /zd/xx
