Changzhou University is located in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, a famous historical and cultural city in the south of the Yangtze River with prosperous economy and rich humanities. It is a provincial full-time undergraduate college jointly founded by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, China Petroleum and Natural Gas Group Co., Ltd., China Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd. and China Offshore Oil Group Co., Ltd., and plans to build a high-level university in Jiangsu.
The school was founded in 1978, formerly known as Wuxi Branch and Changzhou Branch of Nanjing Institute of Chemical Technology. 198 1 With the approval of the State Council, the school was named Jiangsu Institute of Chemical Technology; 1984, Jiangsu provincial people's government and sinopec group jointly run a school; 1992 became a subordinate university managed by sinopec group (formerly sinopec group) and renamed as Jiangsu Institute of Petrochemical Technology; In 2000, the central and local governments jointly established a management system with Jiangsu Province as the main management. 200 1, Jiangsu Commercial Technical School was merged into Jiangsu Institute of Petrochemical Technology; In 2002, the school was renamed Jiangsu Institute of Technology; 20 10 was renamed Changzhou University with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
