Xiangya Medical College of Central South University is one of the first pilot universities in the "Excellent Doctor Education and Training Program", one of the first batch of university medical schools jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health, and one of the ten subordinate comprehensive university medical schools jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health.

The World Federation of Medical Education and the Special Committee on International Medical Education are one of the two institutions that carry out the pilot study of two standards at the same time in China, and one of the first five institutions that pilot eight-year medical education.

Xiangya Medical College of Central South University, formerly Xiangya Medical College, was founded in 19 14. It was jointly founded by Hunan Yukon Society and Yale Yali Association of the United States. It is the first Sino-foreign cooperative medical school in China.

Following the National Xiangya Medical College and Hunan Medical University, 1996 entered the national "2 1 1 Project", which was jointly built by the Ministry of Health and the Hunan Provincial Government. In February, 20001year, it entered the national "985 project" key construction ranks.

The main departments are Xiangya Medical College, Basic Medical College, Nursing College, Stomatology Medical College, Pharmacy College, Life Science College, Public Health College, Medical Laboratory Department, Medical Information Department, Anesthesiology Department, Mental Health Department and Laboratory Animal Department. The major is clinical medicine (five-year, seven-year and eight-year programs).

Forensic medicine, nursing, stomatology (five-year program, seven-year program), pharmacy (five-year program), biological science, preventive medicine (five-year program), medical inspection and technology, medical informatics, anesthesia medicine, psychiatry and other majors.
