The key scenic spots along the Silk Road include Xi 'an, which is not only one of the four ancient capitals in China, but also one of the most famous wonders in China-the Terracotta Warriors. Like Xi 'an, Luoyang is one of the four ancient capitals in China (the other two are Beijing and Nanjing). It used to be the capital of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, the Eastern Han Dynasty and the Tang Dynasty, including some amazing historical sites, which can still be visited by tourists today. Scenic spots include Baima Temple and Guanlin Temple. The former contains many Buddhist cultural relics, and the latter is a holy place for Guan Yu to worship during the Three Kingdoms period.
3. Jiayuguan Great Wall
It is a magnificent historical symbol on the Silk Road. Jiayuguan Great Wall was originally designed as a part of the defense system between the two mountains in Hexi Corridor. This striking fortification is worth stopping to see. The dangerous and arduous construction process of that year also left many unusual stories. For example, all the bricks used were transported by sheep from the icy road.
4. Dunhuang
Dunhuang was the gateway to Xinjiang in ancient times, and modern tourists can't destroy the history and landscape of famous local attractions. Because of the Mogao Grottoes, it has become one of the best tourist attractions in Gansu-1700-year-old third largest Buddha statue in the world sits solemnly among various Buddhist artworks-you can choose to ride camels or sand motorcycles on the sand dunes. What keeps these dunes standing hundreds of years after human activities have stopped? Tourists' footprints will be erased by sand, as if no one had ever been here.
