Occupational health training for workers before taking up their posts and regular occupational health training during their posts mainly include: popularizing occupational health knowledge and urging workers to abide by laws, regulations, rules, national occupational health standards and operating procedures for occupational disease prevention and control. Workers in posts with serious occupational hazards should receive special occupational health training, and only after passing the training can they work at their posts.
If the process, technology, equipment, materials, etc. change, or the post is adjusted, which leads to the change of occupational hazard factors exposed to the workers, the employer shall re-train the workers in occupational health before taking up their posts. Occupational health training methods include attending occupational health training courses organized by occupational health supervision departments and occupational health technical service institutions, entrusting occupational health supervision departments to carry out occupational health training, or inviting professionals or occupational health management personnel of demonstration enterprises to give lectures.
Usually the person in charge focuses on the training of laws and regulations, while the workers focus on the basic knowledge training of occupational hazard prevention and control.
As the training content, laws and regulations include the Law on the Prevention and Control of Occupational Diseases and its supporting regulations. The basic knowledge of occupational hazard prevention and control includes identifying occupational hazards in the workplace of the unit, mastering their harmful effects and protective measures, correctly using and maintaining occupational protective articles and personal protective articles, emergency rescue measures in case of accidents, occupational health management system and operating procedures.
