Zheng Hang education
According to the characteristics of ship management education mode, the student management mode is adopted.

The school-running system of ship administration is very unique, and it does have many distinctive features at present. But it is also natural to examine it in the historical background at that time.

To sum up, the emergence of this school-running system was limited by objective needs and conditions: because the establishment of new schools at that time was the first to open up the atmosphere, there was no precedent in China, and some were only the imperial examination education system; Although foreign educational models have been introduced, they dare not copy them completely;

At the same time, it is urgent and long-term to train talents, rectify the navy and build ships and guns. Thus, under the joint planning of Zuo, Shen Baozhen, Riyige and Dekebei, an imported and improved ship administration school-running system was born on the land of China.

Work-integrated learning system;

Mawei Waterway Administration implements the system of combining work with study. Shipyard and school were established at the same time by the government of ship administration, but they were neither factory-run schools nor school-run factories, nor were they joint or cooperative. There are inextricably linked in planning and overall planning: supervision is in charge of both schools and factories; Teaching is both a teacher and an engineer; Students should not only study, but also take part in labor and undertake production tasks.

This school-running system of combining factory and school is an advanced form of combining Industry-University-Research. Compared with the Industry-University-Research consortium or factory-school cooperation advocated at present, it can better reflect the close combination of education and productive labor, and is more in line with the characteristics of higher vocational and technical education.

Because of the integration of factory and school, various majors can arrange a large number of internships according to their own characteristics: for example, the mechanical manufacturing major of the manufacturing college has a steam engine manufacturing internship class, and the shipbuilding major has a hull construction internship class. And each study class needs several hours of physical labor every day.

For example, the design major has eight months of factory internship during the three-year study period; Tube wheel specialty, first practice engine assembly on shore, and then install various machines on the newly built ship;

Students majoring in driving spend five years in school to learn basic courses and navigation knowledge, then go to the "ship training school" to study, and then spend two or more years learning navigation, naval warfare, shooting and command. These are the theoretical and practical knowledge that a captain must possess.
