The relationship between teaching and intellectual education
The relationship between teaching and intellectual education is as follows:

Teaching and intellectual education are both related and different. As an integral part of education, intellectual education (that is, imparting systematic scientific and cultural knowledge to students and developing their intelligence) is mainly carried out through teaching. But we cannot equate the two.

(1) Intellectual education is a main content of teaching, but intellectual education is not the whole of teaching, and teaching is also a way of moral education, aesthetic education, physical education and labor technology education.

Teaching can purposefully and systematically impart the basic knowledge of all components of education, including intellectual education, moral education, aesthetic education, physical education and labor technology education, and promote their intellectual, moral, physical, aesthetic and labor technology development as expected.

Teaching is the basic way for schools to comprehensively educate students and cultivate them into qualified talents. Only by paying attention to teaching can we improve the quality of teaching, and only by improving the quality of teaching can we improve the quality of education and ensure the quality of talents.

(2) Intellectual education can only be fully realized through extracurricular activities. The function of teaching is to cultivate talents with all-round development in morality, intelligence, physique, beauty and labor. Equating teaching with intellectual education will hinder the full play of teaching role. Intellectual education is an education that gives students systematic scientific and cultural knowledge, skills and intelligence development.

It plays an important role in helping students understand the laws of nature and society, improve their ability to analyze and solve problems, master the practical skills of socialist modernization and develop their personality in an all-round way. Intellectual education is an important part of all-round development education, and it also needs to be realized through extracurricular practical activities.

In a word, teaching and intellectual education are different. If we equate teaching with intellectual education, it will lead to intellectualism and deviate from the direction of all-round development. If intellectual education is limited to classroom teaching, it will be ignored and divorced from the broad reality of social life.

Teaching function

Teaching plays a very important role in the development of human civilization and promotes great scientific and technological progress. The great changes brought about by scientific and technological progress in the twentieth century to human production and life are really amazing. People's dreams of "clairvoyance", "clairvoyance", "flying into the sky" and "flying into space" have all come true in this century.

Looking back on the great progress of science and technology in the 20th century, the following projects are undoubtedly the most influential, and the prediction and promotion of mathematics is of vital importance.

(1) Maxwell's equation first lets people demonstrate electromagnetic waves in teaching, then Hertz can do the experiment of emitting electromagnetic waves, and then there is the development of electromagnetic wave acousto-optic information transmission technology.

(2) The mass-energy formula of Einstein's theory of relativity demonstrated the huge energy released by atomic reaction mathematically for the first time, and predicted the coming of atomic energy era. Then people realized this foresight in technology. Today, atomic energy has become the main component of electric energy in developed countries.

(3) Newton predicted the possibility of launching artificial celestial bodies through mathematical calculation, and it took people nearly three centuries to realize this prediction.

(4) The birth and development of electronic digital computer is entirely under the guidance of mathematical theory. The research of mathematicians Turing and von Neumann has played a key role in promoting this major scientific and technological progress.
