The present situation of education in China is a very broad concept. Without personal experience, extensive investigation and in-depth research, it is difficult to have a say. At school, the author experienced a particularly pure school education with China characteristics from primary school to junior high school to senior high school and then to university, and engaged in rural compulsory education for a long time after graduation. I have witnessed the hard progress of rural compulsory education in the cracks since the 1990s. The following is my humble opinion on the widespread phenomenon of formalism, which is quite right: every link in the education process has rigid routines. In order to cope with the inspection of higher authorities, from classroom teaching to extracurricular activities, from administrative management to home-school friendship, from achievement award to professional title evaluation, from popularizing nine-year compulsory education to rigid evaluation and acceptance of balanced development, from school-based training to national training plan, from civilized campus to safe creation, and of course, today's information technology, various network platforms, and the management of the traces of plucked birds. The process may be vigorous, but the result is lack of warmth: the reference room is full of forest debris, and the office is full of bitterness and helpless relief from the sea.
Limited by space, I won't go into details about the exam-oriented hero education, the overwhelming extracurricular tutoring institutions, the family education lost in doting, the times challenges faced by the tradition of respecting teachers and attaching importance to teaching, the construction of teachers' morality and style, and the ecological crisis of rural education.
