The term of "correction within a time limit" is generally one year. For party member, who is "corrected within a time limit", the Party organization should designate a special person to help and educate them so that they can meet the requirements of qualified party member as soon as possible. After the expiration of "correction within a time limit", the Party organization should discuss in time whether it meets the party member conditions. Unqualified party member, after discussion at the Party branch meeting, thinks that he has not corrected his shortcomings and mistakes, and does not meet the requirements of qualified party member, the party organization shall persuade him to quit the party, and if he refuses to correct, he shall be expelled from the party, and generally the time for "correction within a time limit" shall not be extended.

As an organizational measure to deal with unqualified party member, "correction within a time limit" is not a disciplinary action in itself. Therefore, unqualified party member can still exercise party member's rights and fulfill his obligations as a party member during the period of "rectification within a time limit".
