Nanjing No.1 Middle School is located on the beautiful Qinhuai River south of Jinling. Its original site was Kendo and Xiyuan in jiangning house in Qing Dynasty. In the thirty-third year of Guangxu (1907), Yishen founded Chongwen School in the old government house, and the last four schools were renamed. 1933, the school was renamed Nanjing No.1 Middle School, which is the first public middle school in Nanjing and one of the earliest provincial key middle schools in Jiangsu Province. Now it is a model school in Jiangsu Province and a national model high school.

The school has always emphasized "teaching and educating people" and adhered to the policy of "moral education first and five educations simultaneously". Over the years, the school spirit of "studious, enterprising, lively and United", the teaching spirit of "rigorous, realistic, innovative and nurturing" and the study style of "diligent, enterprising, pragmatic and refined" have been formed. The school has 230 teaching staff, including 76 senior teachers (including 4 special-grade teachers), 49 teaching classes in senior middle schools and 2,500 students. The campus covers an area of more than 40,000 square meters.

Our high school graduates have been among the best in the college entrance examination for many years, and junior high school graduates have been ranked first in the city for more than ten years.
