Network cable length: shorter (1.5 ~ 2m or so), longer as long as you can get from other people's home to your own!

Then you connect someone else's network cable interface to your own router (WAN port).

Then connect one end of the short cable and the long cable to the router (LAN port) respectively, and then connect the other end of the short cable to someone else's computer network card.
