College of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology of Tianjin University, referred to as "College of Pharmacy", was established in August 2000 and formally established in April 20001. The first president was Professor Zhao Kang, and the honorary president was Professor Shen Jiaxiang, an academician of China Academy of Engineering. From June 2065438 to June 2003, Professor JaySiegel served as the second dean of the School of Pharmacy; From 2065438 to May 2004, the College was successfully selected as the "International Model College of China University" by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs and became one of the first four model colleges in China.
The college was a newly-built pilot college of Tianjin University at that time, aiming at introducing talents from a high starting point, trying to apply the concept of internationalization and exploring the establishment of a high-level college with international influence. Pharmaceutical College is carrying out a series of reforms in organizational management system, teaching and training system, talent introduction, public infrastructure construction, industrial alliance and other aspects, striving to build an internationally renowned brand.

The College of Biological and Pharmaceutical Engineering aims at cultivating high-quality applied technical professionals, focusing on the rapid development of modern pharmaceutical technology, life science and pharmaceutical science, grasping the historical opportunity of the rise of domestic pharmaceutical industry, constantly improving the ability of scientific research and technological innovation, and striving to become a leader, service provider and promoter of regional medicine and pharmaceutical technology.
The college has a young and high-quality teaching and research team with 77 full-time and part-time teachers, including 9 professors, 22 associate professors and 29 lecturers. Among them, there are 0/4 doctors/KLOC and 50 masters. The college has six undergraduate majors, including pharmaceutical engineering, biotechnology, bioengineering, biopharmaceuticals, applied chemistry and pharmaceutical preparations, with 986 students. Relying on the advantages of the national pharmaceutical industry, the college has the advantages of integration of production and education, reasonable professional structure and strong school-running conditions.
