Tianjin Normal University is a key institution in Tianjin. Founded in 1958, formerly known as Tianjin Normal University, 1982 was renamed as Tianjin Normal University. 65438-0999, the former Tianjin Normal University, Tianjin Normal College and Tianjin Institute of Education merged to form a new Tianjin Normal University.
The school covers an area of 3,500 mu with a building area of 860,000 square meters. In 2005, the new campus of Tianjin Normal University in Xiqing District was officially opened, and the school-running environment was fundamentally improved, which laid a solid foundation for the school's development.
The school has 27 party and government functional departments, 2 departments, 20 colleges and 17 directly affiliated units. At present, there are 70 undergraduate majors, 8 first-class disciplines authorized by doctoral degrees, 35 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degrees, and 5 master's degrees, involving philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, management, art and other disciplines/kloc-0. At present, the convener of the Seventh Discipline Evaluation Group of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee is 1 person, with 2 members, 2 national key disciplines, 7 first-class disciplines in Tianjin, 8 key disciplines in Tianjin 18, and 5 characteristic disciplines (groups) in Tianjin. The chemistry discipline has been ranked in the top of the world in "ESI" for five consecutive years 1%. According to the results of the fourth round of discipline evaluation issued by the Center for Degree and Postgraduate Education Development of the Ministry of Education, four disciplines in our school were awarded B+ disciplines, and two disciplines, Education and China Language and Literature, were awarded b+ disciplines. There are 6 specialty construction sites of the Ministry of Education, 6 brand specialty construction sites in Tianjin 16, 5 specialty construction sites related to strategic emerging industries in Tianjin, 8 specialty construction sites with advantages and characteristics in Tianjin, and 2 application specialty construction sites in Tianjin 12. There are 2 national experimental teaching demonstration centers, 3 provincial and municipal humanities and social science bases, 7 provincial and municipal engineering centers, international joint research centers and key laboratories, and 7 postdoctoral research stations. The school has built 9 national-level excellent resource sharing courses, 25 municipal-level excellent courses, 6 Tianjin "course ideological and political" reform excellent construction courses, 1 national teaching team, 13 municipal-level teaching team and 2 Tianjin "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" comprehensive investment teaching innovation teams. Our school has created fresh experience in the teaching reform of ideological and political courses, which has been reported by the central media and newspapers for more than 40 times. Approved by the Ministry of Education as the first batch of excellent traditional Chinese cultural heritage bases, three of the four ideological and political courses won the "wonderful lesson" by the Ministry of Education, and the school teachers successively won the titles of "teaching model" and "the most beautiful ideological and political teacher" in the country.
