The atmosphere of lectures and discussions is prevalent; The imperial examination was also unprecedentedly prosperous. Mingzhou became a state of culture and education. Many cultural relics reflecting the historical background at that time were exhibited in the exhibition hall.
During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, local official schools in Ningbo also developed unprecedentedly. The educational system is more perfect, forming an educational system connecting social studies and voluntary subjects-government, state and county subjects-imperial academy.

The original teaching building of Yongjiang Girls' Middle School, where Ningbo Education Museum is located, is itself a huge and precious "collection". This first girls' school in China, which was included in the dictionary of education, is still talked about by many old Ningbo people.
The former site of Yongjiang Girls' Middle School was selected as the former site of Ningbo Education Museum. Shen Haixun, director of the Municipal Institute of Educational Sciences and director of the Ningbo Education Museum, believes that there are three reasons: First, Yongjiang Girls' Middle School can play a new role as a cultural protection point and inject new elements into the highlights of Ningbo's urban cultural heritage; Secondly, Yongjiang Girls' Middle School witnessed the modern history of Ningbo's education development after the Opium War. From this point of view, choosing it as the former site of Ningbo Education Museum can explain the "thickness" of Ningbo's education history; Thirdly, as the first girls' school in China, it broke the tradition that women were not allowed to enter schools in China feudal society, "led the trend of modern education in China", and also proved the pioneering role and important position of Ningbo in the history of modern education in China.
