After 80s, international students in China were under academic pressure, and suicides occurred frequently.
On April 9th, China Radio Network reported that overseas students born in 1980s in China committed suicide frequently due to academic pressure. According to Voice of China's Global Chinese Broadcasting Network, many parents now plan to send their children to study abroad, believing that this is their best future. However, parents and children are not fully prepared for whether their children can quickly adapt to the foreign environment and how to deal with problems. On March 10, Guo, an international student from China who was studying in Bordeaux III, died of sudden illness in the dormitory. With the help of the French Embassy in China and the All-France China Students' Union, his family recently came to France to deal with the funeral and brought his ashes back to China.

On March 1 1, the Consular Section of the French Embassy in China received a phone call from the French police, claiming that Guo, a French student living in Bordeaux, died in his rented dormitory due to alcoholism. Consular officials immediately contacted the Education Office of the Embassy to learn about the student, and immediately informed his parents to help them go through the formalities of coming to France. It is understood that Guo, an only child born in the 1980s, came to France to study four years ago. He studied for a master's degree in the second year of Bordeaux University, but failed to pass the graduation exam last year, so he was under great mental pressure. Besides, there are many disappointments in his life, which leads to the student's depression and frequent drinking. On the phone with my father before, my father found that his mental state was very bad, but unfortunately, there is still a long way to go to know the child's physical condition. On March 10, neighbors living under the Guojialou found that the faucet in the Guojialou room was not turned off and the water kept flowing downstairs. No one answered in the room, so they called the landlord to open the door and found him lying unconscious in the bathroom. They immediately called the police and found that he had stopped breathing when he arrived. Later events showed that Guo was shocked by hemorrhagic necrotizing acute pancreatitis for the first time and died suddenly of respiratory failure. The reason is excessive drinking and alcoholism.

Some people say that living abroad is like starting all over again, and everything has to be readjusted. Under this premise, some students' psychological quality is not so good, their vision of dealing with problems is not so keen and long-term, and even their analysis and preparation for the cause and effect of things are not so full, so it is not so incomprehensible for us that some students have some suicidal thoughts and even choose to commit suicide. On the other hand, I think there are more and more students studying abroad in recent years, with different ages. Why can't we plan ahead? It is necessary to sound this alarm before going abroad, so that students who are about to go abroad should be fully prepared mentally, physically and psychologically, including all aspects of their bodies. On the other hand, as parents of students, they should pay more attention to every change of their children overseas, make more phone calls, make more contacts and watch videos online.

At the same time, as we just mentioned, the Education Department of the China Embassy and Consulate is also a regulatory body, always paying attention to potential hidden dangers. Therefore, the first thing many students do when going abroad is to register at the Education Office of the embassy of the host country and then join the local student union organization. At least there are others who can help you when you are helpless. However, even so, some international students live too scattered, and some students deliberately avoid education departments, student unions and other organizations. Therefore, there are still some students who have mental and physical problems due to their inadaptability to the environment and excessive academic or life pressure. Last year, in France, two female students hanged themselves because of stress and mental breakdown. Therefore, we once again appeal to prospective international students who are preparing to study abroad. After coming out, we must pay attention to maintaining friendly relations with the students around us, actively participate in group activities, correctly treat academic difficulties, correctly handle disputes or setbacks encountered in our feelings and life, persist in focusing on our studies, and strive to create a good study and living environment for ourselves.
