The term of active service for conscripts is two years.

Article 19 of the Military Service Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) stipulates that the term of active service for conscripts is two years.

The maximum length of military service is 30 years. According to the second paragraph of Article 2 of the Interim Measures for the Placement of Non-commissioned Officers in China People's Liberation Army, those who have served in active service for 30 years or over 55 years old will be discharged from active service.

That is, the term of active service for conscripts is two years. After the expiration of active service, conscripts can be turned into volunteers with the approval of units at or above the regimental level according to the needs of the troops and their own wishes. Volunteers should serve in active service by stages. The term of active service for volunteers shall be at least three years, generally not more than 30 years, and not more than 55 years old at most, starting from the day when they become volunteers.

1, register online.

Before August 5 every year, male college students (including students and fresh graduates) who are interested in applying can log on to the national recruitment network and fill in their basic personal information. After successful registration, you can download and print the registration form of college students' pre-recruitment objects and submit it to the recruitment department of your university for review.

2. Preliminary inspection.

Before leaving school or having a holiday, according to the notice of the school, college students bring their ID cards (household registration books) and graduation certificates (college students hold student ID cards) to participate in the preliminary examination organized by the military service organs at the county level where the school is located at the specified time. Students who are determined to be pre-enlisted shall receive the registration form and application form after being examined and sealed by the military service organs and relevant departments of the school.

3. Physical examination and political examination.

College students can choose one of the school location, pre-school registration place or habitual residence as a conscript.

After the start of conscription, the military service organ in the enlistment area shall inform the college students of the specific time and place of physical examination. The notice requires that college students can take their ID card (household registration book), graduation certificate (college students hold student ID card), audited and stamped registration form and registration form to directly participate in the physical examination organized by the county-level conscription office where they join the army, and the local public security, education and other departments will conduct political examination simultaneously.

4. Visit and inspect.

Those who pass the political examination and physical examination shall be notified by the county-level conscription office to the grassroots people's armed forces department of the township (town, street) where the college students are located and arranged for a visit.

5. Book new recruits.

The county-level conscription office comprehensively measures those who pass the physical examination and political examination, and determines the target of scheduled approval for enlistment. Under the same conditions, graduates with high academic qualifications will be given priority as planned recruits.

6. Post publicity.

The list of candidates shall be publicized in counties (cities, districts) and townships (towns, streets), and the time for accepting supervision by the masses shall not be less than 5 days.

7. Approved for enlistment.

Those who pass the physical examination and political examination shall be officially approved by the county-level conscription office after publicity, and a notice of enlistment shall be issued. Students cancel their registered permanent residence with the Notice of Enlistment, enjoy preferential treatment for conscripts, wait for handover and departure, and transport them to the army for service.
