The "two basics" attack is unique.
After more than 10 years of continuous attack, Guizhou Province has successfully achieved the "two basics" goals of basically popularizing nine-year compulsory education and basically eliminating illiteracy among young people. The attack changed the face of education in Guizhou. Compared with 2000, in 20 10, the number of junior high school students in Guizhou increased by 640,000, the number of primary and secondary school teachers increased by 60,000, and the area of primary and secondary school buildings increased by nearly 6.5438+0 million square meters, which ended the study of 400,000 rural middle school students in different places, and more than 600,000 primary and secondary school students said goodbye.

In addition, in years of efforts, Guizhou has also explored unique new educational ideas in China, such as "ethnic and folk culture enters the classroom", "agricultural practical technology enters the junior middle school classroom" and "carrying out the evaluation and monitoring of teaching quality in the provincial compulsory stage".

National culture enriches classroom teaching

Case: "Since 2002, we have added two dance classes a week to students' courses to let them know how beautiful dances their ancestors once created. "Liu, vice president of the second primary school in Taijiang County, said that nowadays, jumping against wooden drums has become a common practice in primary and secondary schools in Taijiang County. Every break, bright drums will ring on the school radio, and the playground is full of dancers. Even the children in Taijiang county demonstration kindergarten are beating drums and dancing in the morning. Taijiang County has a population of less than 6.5438+0.5 million, and there are no fewer than 20,000 people who can jump off trees and inspire themselves.

Background: In 2002, the Provincial Department of Education and the Provincial Ethnic Affairs Commission jointly issued the "Implementation Opinions on Developing Ethnic and Folk Culture Education in Schools at All Levels in the Province", and ethnic and folk culture was formally incorporated into the education system. In July 2008, the Provincial Department of Education and the Provincial Ethnic Affairs Commission jointly issued the Opinions on Vigorously Promoting Ethnic and Folk Culture Education in Schools at All Levels, clearly stating that ethnic and folk culture education is the need to protect and inherit excellent ethnic and folk culture and the need for the prosperity and development of "Colorful Guizhou". Many schools believe that it is an important practice of quality education in Guizhou to bring ethnic and folk culture into the classroom and develop children's talents. It has reached the forefront of the country and has been commended by the Ministry of Education.

Agricultural practical technology enters junior high school classroom

Case: Zhou, who graduated from Anshun Agricultural Technology Middle School, brought back practical agricultural technologies such as poultry castration technology and animal disease prevention and control from textbooks, and used these knowledge to treat more than 300 livestock in remote Yanla Township within his jurisdiction, saving farmers more than 200,000 yuan in economic losses.

Background: Driven by the achievements of "two basics", our province started to offer local courses of "Rural Practical Science and Technology" in rural counties and junior high schools below the county level in the autumn of 2004. A large number of junior high school graduates who have mastered practical skills have returned home and become the new force and rich leader of "agriculture, countryside and farmers". Infiltrating vocational and technical education into the "two basics" is an important measure to improve the quality of education in our province and another effective experiment in rural education reform.

Quality monitoring and evaluation become more reasonable.

Case: The Report on the Monitoring and Evaluation of the Teaching Quality of Compulsory Education in Guizhou Province in 2008, written by the nine-year compulsory education teaching quality monitoring and evaluation group of the Provincial Department of Education, "The proportion of primary school students who like their own schools and the subjects they study is significantly higher than that of junior high school students. About 80% primary school students like their school, 80% primary school students like math and science subjects, but only 60% junior high school students like their school, only 53.65% like English and only 53.65% like biology. According to the report, this shows that with the growth of grades, the number of students who like their own schools and disciplines is decreasing. About 80% primary school students prefer their own school and two subjects, which is the basis for improving teaching quality in the future.

Background: In 2008, our province began to evaluate the quality of compulsory education, which is the only provincial evaluation in China. The whole process of evaluation has also changed the tendency of traditional evaluation to emphasize the function of screening and selection, and established the modern educational concept of "people-oriented" and "development-oriented". The monitoring process not only takes grades as indicators, but also tries to understand parents' views on school and children's learning, paying more attention to students' ideas and sustainable development.
