Shanghai Private Pinghe School was born in September, 1996. It is a boarding school with independent economic accounting and legal personality authorized by the board of directors. Shanghai Jinqiao (Group) Co., Ltd. invested fully and started its own school. Since 200 1, schools are allowed to enroll students across districts and counties in the city. In September, 2002, senior high school offered international diploma courses and implemented English teaching. In May 2003, it passed the audit of International Diploma Organization (IBO) and became a member school of IB. From June 5438 to February 2004, the school was recognized as "the first batch of bilingual schools in Shanghai" by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. In 2007, it was approved as "Shanghai Qualified School for Recruiting Foreign Students Directly from Abroad".
