Harbin Institute of Technology, referred to as Harbin Institute of Technology, was established by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China and directly under the central government.

Harbin Engineering University, referred to as "Harbin Project" for short, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, and is jointly established by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Education, the People's Government of Heilongjiang Province and the PLA Navy.

This school was established in different periods.

This school of Harbin Institute of Technology was built in 1920. 195 1 was identified as one of the two sample universities to learn the mode of running higher education abroad. 1954 entered the first batch of six universities in China. This is the first university in New China to be awarded the title of engineer. In 2000, the newly established Harbin Institute of Technology merged with the former Harbin Jianzhu University.

(3) The library is mainly composed of three parts: engineering, science and technology and management. These three districts are mainly civil engineering, municipal and environmental engineering, traffic engineering and basic disciplines. The libraries of architectural branches are mainly architecture and urban planning, and all libraries have collections of humanities, social sciences and other disciplines.

Harbin Engineering University:

(1) By the end of 20 17, the total collection of school libraries was 4,987,200 volumes, including 239 printed books/kloc-0.2 million volumes, and 667 Chinese and foreign newspapers and periodicals were ordered to be printed annually.

(2) Ordered 82 Chinese and foreign databases such as SCI, EI, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, IEL and CNKI, including nearly 60,000 full-text electronic journals, 2.596 million electronic books and more than 8 million electronic dissertations.
