If we make clear the division of disciplines and categories, many problems will be basically worked out. Continue to use the above examples to illustrate that landscape architecture belongs to the architectural category under the engineering category, horticulture belongs to the plant production category under the agricultural category, and landscape architecture belongs to the forestry category under the agricultural category. So a simple understanding, landscape architecture is actually engaged in architectural design, similar to residential areas and urban parks; Horticulture focuses on the cultivation and production of plants, especially vegetables and flowers; Compared with gardening, landscape architecture focuses on the research direction of big trees, and more on the planting and cultivation of plants than landscape architecture.
The above is just an example. The complete catalogue of university majors involves 12 disciplines, 92 categories and 506 sub-majors. Subdivision is divided into three categories:
Basic major is a 352 major with relatively mature discipline foundation, relatively stable social demand, relatively large number of colleges and universities and good inheritance. For example, economics, Chinese language and literature, software engineering, automation and fine arts are all basic majors.
Ad hoc majors are mainly established in recent years to meet the special needs of economic and social development, and a "t" is added after the professional code (154). For example, in order to train language talents for the "Belt and Road" construction, the 1 1 minor language majors newly added in Beijing Foreign Studies University in 20 16 are all characteristic majors. Ad hoc majors are emerging majors, and some colleges and universities offer them one after another, but the quality of running schools is uneven. To this end, the Ministry of Education will make dynamic adjustments to such majors every year.
Specialties involving national security and special industries are allocated by the state, which is called the state-controlled distribution specialty, and the "K" is added after the professional code (62). For example, public security, fire engineering, religion, flying technology, sports training, martial arts and traditional national sports, some medical majors, law, finance, finance, business administration, tourism management, accounting and other majors all belong to the state-controlled distribution major. Among the distribution majors controlled by the state, some social needs are relatively small, and it is necessary to control the enrollment scale, such as public security majors and religious majors. There are also too many colleges and universities, and the supply exceeds the demand, so it is necessary to control the enrollment scale, such as law, finance, accounting and so on.
