Related groups in Sōka Gakkai
There are several affiliated groups in Sōka Gakkai and Sōka Gakkai. Many of them were founded by Daisaku Ikeda, chairman of Sōka Gakkai International, whose ideal is to promote world peace. The activities of these groups are aimed at promoting peace, culture and education and are open to the public for their participation.

Institute of Oriental Philosophy

The Institute of Oriental Philosophy (IOP) is a non-profit organization founded by President Ikeda SGI on 1962. It is an academic institution that focuses on oriental knowledge, thought and philosophy and extensively studies Asian culture. Study all specialized personnel to carry out research activities and data collection of Buddhist thought documents. By 20 13, the institute had collected about 25,000 academic books and 10 academic magazines covering Indian, China and Japanese thoughts, philosophies and religions. In addition, the Institute regularly publishes a general academic journal named Oriental Academic Research.

Ikeda Center for Peace, Education and Dialogue

Ikeda Center for Peace, Learning and Dialogue is an institution that studies peace. Founded in 1993, formerly known as "Boston 2 1 Century Research Center". It is located in Boston, the educational and academic center on the east coast of the United States, adjacent to Harvard University, and was renamed in 2009. The purpose of this research center is to discuss how to solve various problems faced by human beings in the 2 1 century civilization from the perspective of Buddhism. Specifically, by inviting experts and scholars from all over the world to hold various seminars, the center directly and deeply discusses topics such as peace, human rights, environment, education and culture, so as to expand the network of peace and humanitarianism.

Toda Memorial International Peace Research Institute

1957, the second president of Sōka Gakkai, Morita Toda, issued the Declaration on the Prohibition of Atomic Bombs and Hydrogen Bombs, resolutely opposing the use of nuclear weapons as a threat to human peace and calling for the widespread dissemination of the Buddhist spirit of peace. This declaration has always been Sōka Gakkai's social philosophy, and it has become the basis of SGI's peaceful culture movement. 1February 1996, which coincides with the 96th anniversary of the birth of the second president of Toda. President Ikeda SGI proposed the establishment of "Toda Memorial International Peace Research Institute", which reflected President Toda's peace concept and thought. The institute advocates peace as a means to interrupt the war, and it is a non-profit organization that pursues peace.

Jia Chuang education school

Daisaku Ikeda founded Sōka Gakkai in Xiaoping, Tokyo on 1968, and Kansai Sōka Gakkai Middle School and High School in Osaka on 1973 five years later. This is the beginning of Sōka Gakkai Education School. Today's Sōka Gakkai Education School includes several kindergartens, and has developed a primary school, a middle school, a high school and two universities, which are located in California and Tokyo. Sōka Gakkai Kindergarten has been established in Hongkong, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea and Brazil.

Sōka Gakkai Education School was established according to the educational theory of Masazaburo Yamaguchi, the first president of Sōka Gakkai. Makguchi's belief is to put students at the center of educational theory and practice, which is also the focus of his lifelong education. As he later elaborated in "Sōka Gakkai Pedagogy System", the purpose of education is to explore the unique potential of each student, help them get a happy life and become people who contribute to society. President Makguchi's kindness and wisdom are still pulsating in Sōka Gakkai education schools.

Sōka Gakkai University

1964, Daisaku Ikeda announced the idea of building a university. Seven years later, in 197 1 year, Sōka Gakkai University (Chuangda for short) stood proudly in Yagong, a suburb of Tokyo, with a campus area of 870,000 square meters.

Its founding spirit is:

(1) Become the highest institution of humanities education;

(2) Become the cradle of building a new culture;

(3) Become a fortress of human peace.

Up to now, Chuangda has signed exchange agreements with 100 universities in 44 countries and regions. Its international student exchange program is one of the best in Japan. By 20 13, about 260 students from 45 countries and regions in the world are studying. Including the number of students in the Institute and affiliated Sōka Gakkai Women's Short-term University (established in 1985 with a two-year course), the total number of university students is about 9,000 (statistics in May 2008). This school is open to all qualified students, regardless of their religious beliefs.

Sōka Gakkai University

Soka University of America, located in Aliso Viejo, California, USA, is a liberal arts university, focusing on providing education in environmental studies, humanities, international relations, social and behavioral sciences. Universities also focus on cultivating students' leadership and the concept of global citizenship. The school enrolls students regardless of race and belief, adheres to the student-oriented spirit, respects diversity and differences, and expects to train students to become global citizens with humanistic ideas and promote world peace.

Democratic Music Association

The Democratic Music Association (Yin Min for short) was founded by Daisaku Ikeda, President of the International Sōka Gakkai, at 1963. It mainly promotes mutual understanding between people through cultural exchanges such as music and art, and officially became a consortium legal person in 1965+0. Since then, Yin Min has developed into a national organization with 6.5438+0.3 million sponsors in Japan, and developed into a music and cultural group representing Japan. Up to now, there are as many countries and regions with overseas cultural exchanges as 100.

Fuji Art Museum in Tokyo

In order to preserve the cultural heritage of human beings and promote cultural and educational exchanges, this art museum was founded by President Ikeda SGI on10.2 in the outskirts of Hachioji, Tokyo, 1983 165438. The Fuji Art Museum in Tokyo has a collection of more than 30,000 works of art, including oriental paintings, board paintings, sculptures, ceramics, martial arts, swords and so on.

Amazon ecological research center

The Amazon rainforest covers an area of about 6.5 million square kilometers, distributed in 9 countries, accounting for 2/5 of the South American continent and 34% of the total number of existing rainforests in the world. At present, it is the largest natural resource in the world. From a few decades ago to 20 13, its area decreased sharply at an alarming rate, which had a great impact on the ecological balance of the earth.

Inspired by the proposal of "New Strategy for Environmental Protection" put forward by Daisaku Ikeda SGI in 1992, SGI of Brazil conducted nature conservation research in a section of Amazon rainforest. It is located in the suburb of Kate Ma, Brazil in the middle of Amazon, covering an area of about 54 hectares. It is home to the Amazon Ecological Research Center (AERC).
