After Zhu Yuanzhang implemented the enfeoffment system, Ye Shangshu, director of Pingyao (similar to the county education bureau) in Shanxi Province, reminded Zhu Yuanzhang of the rebellion of eight kings in the Western Jin Dynasty and the rebellion of seven countries in the Han Dynasty and opposed the enfeoffment system. But Zhu Yuanzhang killed Ye Chen Bo on the grounds of "alienating the royal family", and everyone who dared to tell the truth was killed. Who dares to say anything? Many people of insight dare not speak, but this is a political issue. Those founding heroes are arrogant soldiers, and Zhu Yuanzhang is unwilling to use these wicked people (for fear that they will rebel). However, the remnants of the Yuan Dynasty were still strong, so the royal children were used to guard the army.
In his later years, Zhu Yuanzhang also discovered the disadvantages of the enfeoffment system and told his grandson Zhu Yunwen (the son of Prince Zhu Biao) that the Prince should worry about it. After his death, he left a will forbidding the vassal king to come to Beijing to attend the funeral, so as to prevent the vassal king from taking the opportunity to make trouble.
