(1) Education and training: It is the most effective and main treatment method, with the goal of promoting their language development, improving their social communication ability and mastering basic life skills and learning skills. Education and training should be received in special education schools and medical institutions. After school age, patients' language skills and social skills will be improved. Some patients can go to ordinary primary schools to receive education with their peers, and some patients need special education.

Cognitive therapy is suitable for patients with mild mental disorder and older patients. The purpose is to help patients understand their differences and problems with their peers, stimulate their potential and develop effective social skills.

(3) Drug therapy: It can eliminate the psychotic symptoms, emotional instability, attention deficit, hyperactivity, impulsive behavior, aggressive behavior, self-injury and suicide behavior, convulsions, obsessive-compulsive symptoms and other problems of patients, which is conducive to protecting the safety of patients themselves or others and smoothly implementing education, training and psychotherapy. For example, central stimulants such as methylphenidate or phenytoin sodium can be used for patients with attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder. Patients with behavioral symptoms, emotional symptoms or psychotic symptoms can use antipsychotic drugs, such as haloperidol, clozapine and olanzapine. Clomipramine and other antidepressants can be used for patients with rigid behavior, obsessive-compulsive symptoms and emotional problems. Epilepsy patients can use phenobarbital, nitrodiazepam, carbamazepine and other antiepileptic drugs. For panic attacks and emotional excitement, anti-anxiety drugs can be used for a short time.
