Learn what to care about.
Learning to care-another educational model is an important work by Nell Noddings on caring ethics and education. Through reading and understanding this book, we can further reflect on and discuss what kind of people should be trained in China education at present and how to train them.

1) Pay attention to the educational purpose in educational theory.

Noddings believes that the educational purpose of caring education theory should be: education must be based on cultivating capable, caring and worthy people. The defects of traditional humanistic education make people's behavior neither motivated nor emotional, and irrational.

After the launch of the Soviet satellite, American school education paid more attention to the academic cultivation of students, ignoring the cultivation of students' moral quality, and the school became a tool for personal career success and national economic prosperity. Many scholars believe that American education has cultivated a group of greedy, decadent, morally bankrupt and highly skilled barbarians. Noddings emphasized the cultivation of capable, caring and lovable people, so as to fundamentally change the moral decline of American students at that time, such as selfishness, indifference, violence and lack of care in schools.

(B) Educational theory that pays attention to the relationship between teachers and students

In today's schools, teachers and students do not fully understand each other, and it is difficult for them to hint at the relationship between care and trust. Noddings pointed out that the relationship between teachers and students is not equal, and teachers must have an inclusive spirit. Teachers can have insight into students' hearts, but students may not have such insight as teachers. We have no reason to ask students to understand the teacher like this. Teachers should not restrict the development of students with their own personal and professional needs. But she also emphasizes the influence of students on teachers. She believes that the relationship between teachers and students is two-way. As the recipients of attention, students must respond to the teacher's efforts.

(C) Pay attention to the position of schools in educational theory

Like the teacher-student relationship, Noddings also emphasizes the continuity of students' learning places. Noddings believes that if we want to create a caring atmosphere, students need to have a caring group, and to build such a group, students need to settle down from time to time and be responsible for their own environment. We need to provide students with a learning place that can generate a sense of community and belonging, because one of the most urgent needs for children is stability and belonging.

(D) Pay attention to the educational theory of school curriculum

Noddings pointed out that schools should divide the middle school curriculum into two parts, one is the existing traditional curriculum, and the other is the care-centered curriculum. We should focus on the theme to build school curriculum, and focus on the theme to build school curriculum. Its main purpose is to show our concern and respect for different human abilities. In curriculum design, teachers must fully understand students, be able to combine students' current interest in learning with their past life experience, and fully understand the knowledge of community society and specific scientific, so as to link students' present study life with their future.
