Is it legal for schools to force students to stay in school?
According to Article 23 of the Education Law, "People's governments at all levels and their relevant departments should maintain the order around schools, protect the legitimate rights and interests of students, teachers and schools, and provide security for schools" and Article 24, "Schools should establish and improve safety systems and emergency mechanisms, educate students on safety, strengthen management, eliminate hidden dangers in time, and prevent accidents", and schools force students to stay in designated dormitories precisely to strengthen the unified management of students, so as to achieve safety education for students.
