Which is better, Waldorf or Montessori?
Almost no longer stay up late, I can't help staying up late today, and I'm still in the busy stage of building the garden. Today, when I saw Mr. Hu Ping writing an article about Ba Academy, I couldn't help commenting. Now I will sort out the comments as follows: Before I came into contact with Waldorf education, Da Li had always been an example in my heart (and then there were Waldorf teachers, and more than one of them were old ladies). Of course, I still like Dali very much, but my idol on my career path has changed. Because, my ideal is to be a front-line teacher like Da Li. I have read all Li's books and they are very suitable. Because of Da Li's efforts, the cases are very rich, which is very beneficial to parents. I know Mr. Hu and often watch Understanding Virginity. It's just that I can't help but say something, which may make both Mr. Hu and Li uncomfortable, but I'm not comfortable without saying it. At this year's Waldorf Teachers' Chinese Conference, the teacher said that it is terrible for an educator to talk about integration and localization without fully understanding an educational concept. I began to contact Waldorf more than four years ago, and began to participate in various Waldorf trainings in Chengdu more than two years ago. I decided to be Waldorf a year ago. When I decided to become a member of Waldorf, I interviewed Mr. Zhang Li. She asked me if I decided to be a pure Waldorf. I hesitated for many seconds. Actually, I wasn't sure that I 100% liked Waldorf. When I thought it over and nodded my decision, Teacher Zhang said that I hesitated. Yes, because I feel like Li. I think what kind of education is not necessarily the best. I like Montessori math. Reggio's course sent me to study in Reggio. Waldorf's soft and straightforward classroom environment and nature suitable for children made me even more moved. So, I was integrated before. However, after a year of integration, I feel very tired. I feel there is a main line, but if there is a branch knot, it is what kind of activities (courses) to bring to children best meet the growth requirements of children and the so-called ideas in my heart-I feel more and more at a loss in the process of doing it. Yes, I have to admit, I like Montessori Mathematics and Reggio, but no concept will organize training and assessment as seriously as Waldorf Education, and at the same time, come to our own garden to guide us in running a school. No, that's not the most important thing. The most important thing is the strength that training teachers brings us. The teacher who trained us was Mr. Ren Waldorf for at least ten years (only one manual teacher, only eight years as a teacher). There are many teachers who have worked for about twenty years, or even worse. In thirty or forty years, the parents who had teachers were Waldorf, and their descendants were Waldorf. I am very moved by this kind of education. There is an education that will make very children set up the ideal of being teachers from an early age; There is an education that allows so many old people who have been engaged in this kind of education for decades to come to China and teach us how to carry out this kind of education carefully. Therefore, I think that if Dahlia participates in Waldorf's three-year training, or has been exposed to Waldorf 10 for 20 years like training our teachers, I believe that she will be able to give full play to the advantages of this kind of education, which is more meaningful to children. But it is more likely that if Dali has studied for so many years, she will probably want to do Waldorf education all her life. Waldorf education is extensive and profound, and I often think, if I do it all my life, can I learn it? No, I'm not sure I can. Someone asked me why I didn't let my children learn Montessori. I said that after studying Waldorf for several years, I would feel unexpected. I don't like it. I'll combine when I can. But I clearly find that the more I learn, the more I like it, and the more I learn, the more I feel about this educational science system. Waldorf education, everything provided to children is based on theory, which makes us teachers not be at a loss. People who can integrate must be people who have thoroughly understood all kinds of educational spirits. Last training, there was a teacher, Elizabeth, who graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Vienna. Her parents are Waldorf. She was educated by Waldorf since childhood. She received all the Waldorf education except college. After graduating from college, she became a Waldorf teacher. Her daughter is also Waldorf's teacher. Her grandson is also attending Waldorf school at present. In Sharing Time in Training, she especially talked about the contradiction between Montessori and Waldorf. She said that Montessori's teaching AIDS are tangible and require concentration to learn skills. She doesn't like (want) children to play with teaching AIDS in their own way. Let children give up their illusions in order to learn skills. This kind of education cultivates intelligent people rather than creative people, not holistic education. We should have both clear thinking and imagination. Judging from the development process of children, children live in an imaginary world at the beginning of their lives, and we can't wake them up through education. In fact, Montessori and Waldorf education should be contradictory in nature. However, it is very easy to be similar in the process of integration, and the "shape" of the two kinds of education is so prominent. I saw Mr. Hu say that Waldorf kindergarten has no building blocks. I don't know how she misunderstood. Waldorf kindergarten has building blocks. I suggest teachers make them themselves, even with children. They cut and polish with thick and thin trunk branches. This kind of building block is more vital, and children will feel more when they hold it in their hands. Some people can't stand dolls without eyes and noses, which I didn't understand before, and it feels strange-this may be the reason why I didn't like Waldorf at first. Before considering being a Waldorf, I specially took my daughter to a Waldorf Children's Home to observe her reaction to this doll. As a result, my daughter liked it very much. Waldorf kindergarten will perform puppet shows and children will play games with dolls. If these dolls have eyes and noses, then the dolls' expressions are relatively simple and they can't show all kinds of expressions during the whole performance-this really leaves room for children's imagination. Waldorf education is the education I know that pays the most attention to children's imagination and creativity and their health-which makes many people who know it have to like it. It has been mentioned that Waldorf education is not suitable for boys, but the harmony between man and nature advocated by Waldorf education is actually more conducive to the growth of boys, especially in today's society where boys grow up in a bad environment. Some people say that Waldorf education is foreign and not suitable for China. Poor thing! I was particularly moved once. What moved me was that Mr. Waldorf told us in class that Waldorf education is to let you explore the essence of your national culture. Waldorf education comes from Telford, but it teaches local people how to carry forward their own national culture under the guidance of Waldorf ideas all over the world-people who love their own nation cannot but be moved by this educational idea. In fact, because I understand and practice Waldorf education, I think it is the best, and because I think it is the best, I will firmly practice it. The premise of this is that I have no more will to learn about other education. According to Waldorf's teacher, many Montessori gardens abroad are doing very well, and they think they are also very good. Reggio's education should be very attractive and suitable for children, but without relevant training, there is no way to grasp the essence of its concept and apply it.
