The school fully adheres to Peking University's philosophy of running a school, inherits Peking University's fine tradition of "patriotism, progress, democracy and science", makes full use of the advantages of running a school shared with Peking University, cultivates students' humanistic quality, cultivates their noble sentiments, promotes their all-round development, lays the foundation for students to become high-quality talents, and strives to build a high-quality brand of basic education in the Pearl River Delta region.

In September 2003, the school officially opened, with three departments: primary school, junior high school and senior high school.

In 2005, the school added the International Department on the basis of running primary schools, junior high schools and senior high schools, and started the project of high school students entering German universities.

In 2006, the school also launched the "Education Plan for Overseas Chinese in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan" to provide high-quality education and teaching, which laid a good foundation for overseas Chinese students living in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan to enter domestic universities.

In July 2008, Zhuhai Municipal Government, Municipal Education Bureau and Beida Jade Bird Education Group joined hands to build a high-quality brand of private cooperative education and set up the "Peking University Experimental School High School Public Project". The education management team sent by Zhuhai No.1 Middle School has jointly established this school which is compatible with private quality education and public quality education.

In 20 12, the school adopted the Sino-US cooperation mode and launched the international project of "Through Train for Famous American Schools" to select American high-quality local courses covering science, linguistics, sociology and art for students.

20 13 September, international classes were held in primary schools and junior high schools respectively.
