Mianyang City University is an ordinary undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is a "double-certificate" school for construction majors in Sichuan Province and a pilot university for comprehensive reform of "three-all education" in Sichuan Province.
Mianyang City College, formerly known as City College of Southwest University of Science and Technology, was jointly organized by Southwest University of Science and Technology and Hefei Wanbo Social Undertaking Development Group Co., Ltd. with the approval of the education administrative department of the State Council in 2006, and obtained a bachelor's degree on 20 12. In 20021year, with the approval of the education administrative department of the State Council, it was transformed into an independent undergraduate institution of higher learning and renamed Mianyang City University. ?

As of March 2023, the school has two campuses, Anzhou and Youxian, with a planned area of 1.200 mu, a built and planned building area of nearly 400,000 square meters, teaching and research instruments and equipment of about1.600 million yuan, and a total of more than 3.7 million books.
