Hu Bingwen has been eager to learn since childhood. When he was 12 years old, he often read until late at night. His parents worried that he was not good at reading and urged him to rest many times, so he covered the window with clothes and hid in his room all night reading silently. He devoted himself to studying Zhu's Neo-Confucianism, and was also proficient in hundred schools of thought, Yin and Yang medicine divination and ephemeris calculation. Because of his profound knowledge, he was hired to give lectures in Wuyuan County, and successively served as a teacher in Jiangning (now Nanjing), a teacher in Xinzhou Road (now Shangrao, Jiangxi) and the head of Yi Dao Academy, and was honored as a famous Confucian in academic circles.

Hu Bingwen was deeply worried when he saw that some scholars only knew the poems of the late Tang Dynasty and could recite them, but they didn't know the Confucian classics. He believes that Zhu Zi's hometown and Ming hometown should inherit the mantle of sages, carry forward Neo-Confucianism and vigorously set up education. So in the third year of his junior year (13 10), he invested in building 200 houses in Kauchuan. His nephew, Hu Dian, who used to be the owner of Longquan County, donated 300 mu of land, and his nephew Hu Cheng donated 50 mu of land to jointly establish Mingjing Academy. The academy is large in scale, and its main buildings include Dacheng Hall, lecture hall, study room, school and so on, which are not only for Hu's children to study, but also meet the desire of nearby students to study. All the land in the academy was used to set up voluntary schools, "losing income to support teachers and apprentices." Mingjing College stipulates that children of families, no matter rich or poor, scholars, no matter far or near, can go to Mingjing College to study. The college also provides meals and dormitories. After the completion of the academy, students from all directions came to study in an endless stream. Wu Cheng, a scholar in Yuan Dynasty and secretary of imperial academy, once wrote an article praising Mingjing Academy, saying: "True Confucianism and the study of Ming Jing have been found in Zhuzi's hometown, which is not great!" At that time, Huang Weizhong, the magistrate of Wuyuan, inspected the newly-built academy and invited him to the imperial court. Please give the plaque of "Mingjing Zhu Quan" to the college. At the age of 60, Hu Bingwen resigned as the principal of Yi Dao Academy on Xinzhou Road and returned to his hometown of Mingjing Academy to take charge of teaching.

Mingjing Academy is named after Hu Changyi, the distant ancestor and scholar of Mingjing. In order to make Ming Jing Academy truly "responsible for the truth of Ming Jing in the name of Ming Jing" and cultivate more useful talents, Hu Bingwen made suggestions, and Hu Dian worked hard day and night regardless of cold and heat. Hu Bingwen said: "Scholars come from all directions. If you don't manage it strictly and teach it carefully, you may live up to the life of sages and teachers and the expectations of scholars. " He also hired teachers from all over the world to teach in the college.

Hu Bingwen personally wrote textbooks and gave lectures in class. Purely seeking truth from the enlightenment textbook he specially wrote for the children who just entered school. The book is composed of Confucian classic notes and stories of historical figures about how to read, live and be a man, which is convenient for children to remember. For example, if "Shi Jun has a round pillow, and pure benevolence accounts for ink", it is noted below: Sima Guang, the prime minister of the Song Dynasty, is honest and diligent. In order to reduce sleep and increase reading time, he used a log as a pillow. When you fall asleep, turn over and roll up your pillow. When you wake up, get up and study again. Chunren, the son of Fan Zhongyan, a famous writer in the Song Dynasty, moved candles into mosquito nets to study at night. Over time, the top of the tent was smoked as black as ink. Later, when she became prime minister, her wife took out mosquito nets to educate her children. There are also allusions in the book, such as "Kong Rong takes pears" and "Wen Gong hits jars", which are still good materials for educating children. Pure Prayer has 360 sentences in each volume 120, which is not long, but rich in content and of great significance to children's education. Sikuquanshu said: "This book is ironic and memorable, just like Zhu's Outside Primary School. Gave a high evaluation.

After the completion of the academy, Hu Dian died unfortunately because of overwork, and the burden on Hu Bingwen's shoulders became heavier. But he is determined to educate. He is full of courage. His purpose in running a school is clear. First, he should inherit Zhu's Neo-Confucianism. He said: "It is my duty to live in Wengong Township and be familiar with Wengong books." The second is to advocate self-cultivation, "first teach people to learn Confucian classics, and then be a person." Insist on doing research "use the words of sages and do it with your body, not your mouth and ears. You will always be the same." He takes the lead in setting an example and never makes money all day long. At that time, someone hired him with a high salary and asked him to leave Mingjing College. He was unmoved. The court promoted him to be an official in Lanxi Prefecture, Zhejiang Province, but he refused to leave. I worked hard all my life until I was seventy, and I insisted on giving lectures and correcting papers myself. When an exam was announced, someone saw that the paper written by Hu Bingwen, who was nearly seventy years old, was well-organized from beginning to end, but there were no mistakes in every word. He sincerely praised: "There are such good examiners after the provincial examination, why are you still worried that you can't produce talents?" Every time after having obtained the provincial examination, the top four students are almost all students from Mingjing College. In the past ten years, this college has trained more than 1000 scholars and is well known.
