About the author:
Zhang Yunhe (1July 25th, 909-August 24th, 200214th), a native of Hefei, Anhui Province, grew up in Suzhou with his father, and his great-grandfather was Zhang Shusheng, an important official in the late Qing Dynasty and a general of Huai Army. His father is Zhang, a modern educator, and his mother is Lu Ying, a Kunqu researcher. Yunhe is the "second sister" among the "Zhang's Ten Brothers and Sisters", and is the wife of Mr. Zhou Youguang, a famous linguist and one of the founders of Chinese Pinyin. Together with Yuanhe (the wife of Gu Chuanjun, a famous Kunqu singer), Shen Congwen, and Chonghe (the wife of an American sinologist), they are also called "Hefei Four Sisters" at home and abroad. Yunhe 1932 graduated from the History Department of Shanghai Guanghua University. After getting married, she studied in Japan and traveled to America and Europe with Zhou Youguang. After the founding of New China, he worked as a high school history teacher and editor of history textbook of People's Education Publishing House, and left his post after 1952 "Tiger Fighting" campaign. From 65438 to 0956, he joined the Beijing Kunqu Opera Research Association chaired by Yu Pingbo, editing social news and performing Kunqu Opera repertoire. At the age of eighty-six, he continued to run the family publication "Water" magazine to unite family ties and exchange needed goods. In his later years, he published many works, such as The Last Lady, Collection of Waves, How Old Lovers Are, Diary of Kunqu Opera, The End of the Song, and so on, which were very popular at home and abroad.
