Classification and characteristics of vocational schools
Vocational schools are schools where students acquire the knowledge and technical skills needed for a certain occupation, and generally recruit junior high school students. Vocational schools are schools that implement academic qualifications and vocational education, which are divided into primary vocational schools, secondary vocational schools and higher vocational schools.

Junior vocational school

Primary vocational school is a vocational school education based on the completion of primary education. In some poor areas, it is difficult to implement nine-year compulsory education. Therefore, after the completion of primary education, primary vocational schools can be established and vocational school education can be carried out to train practical talents for local people.

secondary vocational school

Secondary vocational schools are schools that implement vocational education on the basis of completing junior high school education. There are four types of secondary vocational schools in China: (1) vocational and technical schools; (2) technical secondary schools; (3) Vocational middle school (vocational high school), referred to as vocational middle school (vocational high school); (4) Adult secondary schools (including employee secondary schools) and vocational secondary schools.

Vocational higher education institutions

Higher vocational education is an ordinary institution of higher learning and a five-year higher vocational education that implements vocational education on the basis of completing high school education or secondary vocational education.
