Unknown and selfless people and their role models
1, Yu Min

Yu Min (1926 August 16-20 19 10/6) was born in Lutai Town, Ninghe County, Hebei Province (now Ninghe District, Tianjin), a nuclear physicist and winner of the highest national science and technology award.

1949 graduated from Peking University physics department. 1980 was elected as an academician of China Academy of Sciences. Former vice president, researcher and senior scientific adviser of China Academy of Engineering Physics.

In the breakthrough of China's hydrogen bomb principle, a series of basic problems were solved, and the idea of basic integrity from principle to configuration was put forward, which played a key role. Since then, he has led the theoretical research and design of nuclear weapons for a long time and solved a lot of theoretical problems. It has made important contributions to the further development of China's nuclear weapons to the international advanced level.

Since 1970s, it has played an important role in advocating and promoting the research of some high-tech projects. 1982 won the first prize of National Natural Science Award. 1985, 1987 and 1989 won the national science and technology progress award three times.

1994 won the Outstanding Scientist Award of Qiushi Fund. 1999 was awarded the medal of "two bombs and one satellite" by the state. 1985 won the "May 1st Labor Medal". 1987 was awarded the title of "National Model Worker".

20 15 won the highest national science and technology award 20 14. 20 18 12 18 the CPC central Committee and the State Council awarded comrade Yu min the title of reform pioneer and the medal of reform pioneer, and was named as "an important promoter of national defense science and technology reform and development".

2. Liu Changcheng

Liu Changcheng also achieved the persistence of voluntary service through the operation of the project, enabling more than 200 helpless, lonely and even world-weary disabled people to leave their families, integrate into society and get rid of poverty and stand on their own feet.

3. Zhang

Since Zhang became the director of the Poverty Alleviation and Immigration Bureau in Quxian County, Dazhou City, poverty-stricken people in Quxian County 143802 (ranked second in Sichuan Province) and poverty-stricken villages 130 have been lifted out of poverty.

4. Cheng

Cheng is one of the pioneers of nuclear weapons research in China and has made outstanding contributions to the development and testing of nuclear weapons. Initiate, plan and lead the research in the new field of radiation-resistant reinforcement technology. It is one of the pioneers in the new field of directional high power microwave research in China.

The first monograph on solid state physics in China was published, the general theory of thermodynamic internal friction was put forward, Dirac equation was derived, and the superconducting double-band theory and condensed TFDC electron theory were put forward and developed. 1985 won the special prize of the national science and technology progress award, 1999 won the national medal of "two bombs and one satellite" and 20 13 won the highest national science and technology award.

5. Xie Jun

Xie Jun, born in 1959, a native of Linfen, Shanxi Province, party member, a researcher. 1982 Graduated from the Department of Electronic Technology, National Defense University, majoring in radar; 1987 graduated from China academy of space technology with a master's degree in communication and electronic systems. He has served as deputy director and director of 504 Institute of the Fifth Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology Group, and chief designer of Beidou-2 navigation satellite.

Brief introduction of Yu Min's life

Yu Min, 1926 was born in Lutai Town (now Tianjin), Ninghe County, Hebei Province. My father was a small clerk in Tianjin, and my mother was born in an ordinary family. At the age of 7, Yu Min began to attend primary school in Lutai Town, and the middle schools successively studied in Tianjin Muzhai Middle School and Hua Yao Middle School.

1944, Yu Min was admitted to Peking University Institute of Technology. 1946 transferred to the school of science to study physics, and the major was theoretical physics. Yu Min 1949 graduated from graduate school and worked as a teaching assistant in Peking University. Under the guidance of Professor Zhang Zongsui and Professor Hu Ning, Yu Min graduated with honors from 195 1.

After graduation, he was transferred by Qian Sanqiang and Peng Huanwu to the Institute of Modern Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences as an assistant researcher and associate researcher. The Institute was established in 1950, with Qian Sanqiang as its director and Wang and Peng Huanwu as its deputy directors.

At the end of 1960, under the organization of Qian Sanqiang, a group of young scientists, mainly Yu Min, quietly started the theoretical exploration of hydrogen bomb technology. This shift from basic research to hydrogen bomb research is a great loss for Min personally.

Yu Min was born to like doing basic research, and he had already made great achievements. The research on nuclear weapons is not only arduous and collective, but also means that he must give up his bright academic future, remain anonymous and travel all the year round. From then on, to 1988, Yu Min's name and identity were kept strictly confidential.

Yu Min has never been abroad. He is almost the only authoritative physicist who has never been abroad. Yu Min almost started from a blank sheet of paper, relying on his own diligence to make theoretical exploration by analogy.

From atomic bomb to hydrogen bomb, according to the time comparison of breakthrough principle test, it took Americans 7 years and 3 months, Britain 4 years and 3 months, France 8 years and 6 months, and the former Soviet Union 4 years and 3 months. One of the main reasons is the complexity of calculation.

At that time, China's equipment was unparalleled. At that time, there was only one electron tube computer with 10,000 times per second, and 95% of the time was allocated to the calculation of atomic bombs, leaving only 5% of the time for Yu Min to design hydrogen bombs.

Yu Min's memory is amazing. The working group under his leadership has a slide rule and forgets to eat and sleep. Over the past four years, Yu Min, Huang Zuqia and other scientific and technological personnel have published 69 reports on research results, which have deeply understood many basic phenomena and laws of hydrogen bombs.

1965, Yu Min was transferred to the Ninth Research Institute of the Second Machinery Department (predecessor of China Academy of Engineering Physics). In September, Yu Min led the team to Shanghai East China Computer Research Institute and calculated a number of models. However, this model is bulky, with low power ratio and low fusion ratio, which does not meet the requirements.

Yu Min summed up his experience, led scientific and technical personnel to calculate several models, found the key to self-sustaining combustion of thermonuclear materials, and solved the important topic of the principle scheme of hydrogen bomb. 10 In late June, Yu Min began to study the theory of nuclear weapons. In the study of the principle of hydrogen bomb, he put forward the idea that the principle and configuration are basically complete, and solved a large number of key theoretical problems of thermonuclear weapons.

Yu Min gave a series of academic reports on the principle of hydrogen bomb to all comrades on business trip in Shanghai, which aroused great interest. It is generally believed that through this stage of work, researchers have spent time trying out two models and achieved good results.

Later, Yu Min served as deputy director of the Theory Department, deputy director and director of the Institute of Theory, vice president of the Institute, deputy director of the Science and Technology Committee of the Institute, and senior scientific adviser of the Institute.
