What is a work-study school?
Work-study school is a school to educate and save young students who commit crimes. Under the leadership of the party Committee, the education department is the main part, and the Communist Youth League and the public security department actively cooperate. Judging from the actual situation in China, reform schools are still limited to cities.

Students attending work-study schools must go through the examination and approval of the Admissions Committee composed of the education departments at or above the municipal level, the Communist Youth League organizations and the urban public security organs, and they also need the consent of their parents. Students who have been educated in the reform school should be sent back to their original schools or changed schools to continue their studies or find jobs, which should not affect their further studies, job assignments and joining the army.

Extended data

Since the 1990s, reform schools have boldly reformed their school-running forms, and implemented on-campus reform trusteeship education and off-campus reform preparatory education. The combination of vocational high school education and academic system has achieved remarkable results and fundamentally changed people's doubts about work-study education.

Work-study schools have changed from simple correction centers for illegal, minor criminal acts and abnormal behaviors to special education institutions that are included in the general education series, connected with and serve general education, and gradually become prevention centers, correction centers and research centers for illegal and criminal acts.
