Reflections on Emotional Education in Reading
Professor Max van Manen is a famous educational scholar in university of alberta. The Mood of Education is his classic. Based on the common phenomena in school education and family education, this book analyzes the educational significance behind it, and combines theory with practice to enhance readers' educational wisdom.

This book has 16 topics, the sensitivity and wit of education, understanding children's world full of possibilities, children's curious experience, the importance of praise and affirmation, and the pedagogical significance of the subject. Fan Meinan asked educators to enter the children's world with sensitivity, wit and love, and to keep a keen sense of smell for the rich and diverse educational situations and meanings from the perspective of life experience, so as to grasp and form educational wisdom and get along with children better.

Still about "curiosity", the author thinks: "Real curiosity is not asking a lot of questions. I am really curious when the question comes back to me in some way, or when the question is wrapped in silence. " Therefore, paying attention to children's curious experience is the most critical factor for children to remain curious forever.

A thoughtful parent, because a well-educated teacher is not necessarily a person who can construct or control every possible experience of children, a thoughtful educator should be a person who is good at grasping problems and can deepen him in a simple way. I hope he will continue to think about this question instead of giving him a fixed answer. Because for a child, an appropriate answer is a story that belongs to him. A good story that can provide answers will keep children interested in asking questions. A witty educator will keep children interested in asking questions.

Qiu Chengtong, a famous mathematician, was always interested in "Kabila conjecture" before he conquered this world problem. 1982, he won the "Nobel Prize" in mathematics-Fields Prize. He is the only China person who has won this honor so far. Since he was a child, he especially likes mathematics and exploring the truth. Until he was 80 years old, he still maintained this passion for mathematics.

Compared with some middle school students, he may have excellent academic performance, and his goal is to be admitted to Tsinghua Peking University. But when he arrives at Tsinghua Peking University, he will lose interest in the subjects he has passed, and even feel miserable. Only by maintaining curiosity to explore the truth can we cultivate firm will and quality and maintain continuous interest, which is where educators should reflect.

Another point impressed me deeply: from the perspective of pedagogy, what we see or how we look at children depends on who we are or how we exist in this world. Similarly, what we see when we look at a child depends on our relationship with the child. Strangers look at children and see memories related to themselves. Teachers look at children and see that children are trying to shape themselves and find their own room for growth.

Fully understand children and keep close relationship with them. Treat children correctly from the perspective of children and education, and don't label children too early. In fact, listening and observing a special child carefully, instead of classifying children, is a promising educational method for children with professional diagnostic, academic and instrumental language.

This book is a close combination of theory and practice, which is instructive to my educational practice and worth reading.
