With the improvement of social and economic life and the rapid development of science and technology, medicine has changed from the traditional biomedical model to the biopsychosocial medical model. Medical psychology and psychological counseling have become an important part of modern medicine, and they have been paid more and more attention and demand by society.

In order to provide on-the-job personnel with opportunities to study postgraduate courses, China Academy of Sciences, China Renmin University, Beijing Normal University and other major universities have set up on-the-job postgraduate courses in psychology, aiming at developing post-university continuing education and cultivating high-level professionals.

Psychology is an undergraduate major in colleges and universities, which belongs to psychology major. The basic study period is four years, and the bachelor's degree in science and education is awarded. Psychology can be traced back to 1900 undergraduate psychology education in Peking University.

The curriculum system is the carrier of the talent training mode, and the construction of the curriculum system is the autonomy of running a university, and it is also the basis of reflecting the characteristics of running a school. Colleges and universities can combine their own talent training objectives and training specifications, and build a curriculum system that reflects the advantages, directional characteristics or regional characteristics of disciplines and can meet the needs of students' diversified development in the future according to the formation law of students' knowledge, quality and ability and the internal logical order of disciplines.

Psychology course credits account for about 50% of the total credits, of which basic courses and professional courses account for about 30% of the total credits. The specific name, teaching content, teaching requirements and the corresponding teaching hours, credits and other teaching arrangements are determined by each university independently, and relevant elective courses reflecting the characteristics of the school, region or industry are also offered.

The proportion of practical courses in total credits is not less than 25%, and the experimental teaching of psychology is not less than 80 hours, paying attention to cultivating students' innovative consciousness and practical ability. We should construct a multi-level experimental practice teaching system, such as basic psychology experiment course-core psychology teaching experiment-applied psychology probation and practice.

In addition to completing the basic content of experimental teaching, we should also build characteristic experiments or characteristic practice projects to meet the needs of cultivating characteristic talents. Colleges and universities should build a complete internship (practical training) and innovative training system, determine the relevant contents and requirements, and complete the relevant teaching contents in various ways and forms according to the personnel training objectives.
