Therefore, he invested in public welfare undertakings such as education and fulfilled his national obligations. As early as 19 13, Jimei Primary School was established in my hometown. Later, normal schools, middle schools, aquatic products, navigation, commerce, agriculture and other schools were added, collectively called "Jimei School". 192 1 year, Chen Jiageng founded Xiamen university. He personally chose the school site and principal, presided over the construction of school buildings, and hired teachers with high salaries. He has set up five colleges and seventeen departments of literature, science, law, business and teaching to train domestic and foreign advanced talents. In Singapore, where he lived abroad, he also founded and sponsored many schools, forming an extensive open education system in Chen Jiageng. Despite the world economic crisis, the business failed to turn losses into profits, he still raised tuition fees in various ways and insisted on running schools. 1932, when a foreign consortium promised to protect its commercial operation on the condition that it stopped supporting Xiamen University and Jimei School, it was flatly rejected by him. It was not until the spring of 1937 that Xiamen University gave its unconditional contribution to the government. After Xiamen University was changed to "national", he paid close attention to its development. During his return to China from 65438 to 0940, he also went to a school in the mainland that moved to Changting. 1949 also visited the school when he returned to China; 1952 after entering Jimei, continue to raise funds and plan to expand the scale of running a school. Under his advocacy, many overseas Chinese donated money for education, which had a far-reaching impact. He is not only devoted to education, but also has excellent educational ideas. He advocates all-round development of students' morality, intelligence and physique, advocates vocational and technical education, attaches importance to normal education, and attaches importance to the decisive role of principals and teachers in running schools. He also promoted social education, personally built the "Natural History Museum" in Jimei Olympic Park, and initiated the construction of Xiamen Overseas Chinese Museum.
