The installation, maintenance, management and trial sounding of civil air defense alarms shall be carried out according to law. The trial sounding of air defense alarm shall be decided by the municipal government according to People's Republic of China (PRC) Civil Air Defense Law, People's Republic of China (PRC) National Defense Education Law and Beijing Civil Air Defense Regulations, combined with the actual situation of this Municipality. Playing air defense warning on national defense education day can not only test the integrity of air defense warning system, but also play a warning and education role for citizens in peacetime, as well as the education role of national defense concept and awareness of air defense and disaster prevention.

Therefore, with the approval of the Beijing Municipal People's Government, in 2020, Beijing will conduct an air defense warning test in the area outside the Fifth Ring Road in this city on the third Saturday of September and National Defense Education Day.
