For Ma Yan, this gathering made everyone know more about her and her career and ideals. 1October 25th, 10, our reporter interviewed Ma Yan exclusively.
Dare to think and do,
A pragmatic dreamer who pursues perfection
From 65438 to 0998, Ma Yan, who was in her early twenties, came to Thailand from Liaoning because of a Sino-Thai agricultural machinery exchange and cooperation project. After graduating from English major, she thought she could make a big difference. Unexpectedly, the project ran aground because of the Asian financial turmoil.
Ma Yan is a man who never gives up easily. She made a life-changing decision and stayed in Thailand.
"If I hadn't stayed in Thailand, maybe my life would have been completely different and I should have been much more comfortable." Ma Yan said.
When I first came to Thailand to study Thai, Ma Yan also volunteered at the temple. Her fate with the temple contributed to her fate with China education. On the recommendation of volunteer friends in the temple, Ma Yan began to teach Chinese in a language exchange center.
In 2003, Ma Yan established its own language exchange center. As a Chinese educator, she has always stressed that we should not only educate for survival, but also guide "grounding gas" according to the situation to achieve the teaching purpose in the simplest way. Among her students are the children of Thai political leaders and the families of overseas Chinese leaders from the Chinese community.
In order to better popularize Chinese education, Ma Yan personally presided over the "Siam Daily" cultural and educational weekly published four times a week, which was very popular among Thai Chinese learners.
Ma Yan also used audio-visual media to record Chinese programs in Thailand to promote Chinese education. In addition, she is also engaged in tourism and has worked as an interpreter for former Thai Prime Minister Yingluck. She even set up a foundation to raise funds to support poverty alleviation projects in northeastern Thailand.
"Many people say that we are the most direct bridge between China culture and the world. As a China native with China cultural factors in his bones, I am very happy to consciously undertake the important task of cultural communication between China and. This is what I like to do. " Ma Yan said frankly that he often "volunteered" to promote China culture in Thailand and gave his best youth, but he was very proud and proud.
By chance,
Matching the transnational cooperation between Chinese and Thai newspapers
Star Siam Daily is the oldest existing Chinese newspaper in Thailand and the most influential newspaper in Thailand at present.
As the deputy general manager of Siam Daily, Ma Yan not only examines the layout content, but also is responsible for advertising, printing and distribution. Its small team is an editorial team composed of four editors and reporters, and it is very busy every day.
20111February, Star Siam Daily and Nanfang Daily started preliminary cooperation, and Nanfang Daily Guangdong today edition landed in Thailand through Star Siam. Last June, 5438+065438+ 10, Southern Newspaper Media Group signed a contract with Star Siam Daily, which not only invested cash in Star Siam Daily, but also sent a management team to fully participate in the editing, operation and management of the newspaper, so as to run the newspaper internationally. This is the first time in the history of newspapers and media in China and Thailand.
In order to expand the influence of Chinese education in Thailand, he joined Siam Daily Co., Ltd. on 20 10 to work for Zheng, the Chinese chairman. From the content point of view, most pages translate local news in Thailand into Chinese news, and there are few original news in Chinese. Traditional Chinese characters are used in the layout, and the black and white version needs to be viewed from top to bottom. Not only is it not about design, but even my hands are black after reading the newspaper. Coupled with the impact of the Internet, China newspapers are facing a serious dilemma under the double attack, and the decline is very severe. Therefore, substantial changes must be made.
After learning about Chinese newspapers in Thailand, she came up with the idea of cooperating with domestic media in China. "The biggest backer of Chinese media is the profound and long-standing Chinese culture, and the domestic press in China is also full of talents. At present, China's journalists in Thailand are seriously aging and lack of talents. Bangkok is an international metropolis, and there is a lot of information to be transmitted to Chinese people all over the world. Therefore, I thought of the possibility of transnational cooperation in the newspaper industry. " Ma Yan said.
A keen intuition told her that from the perspective of regional and customs, the priority direction of cooperation is the media in southern China.
2011At the end of September, Ma Yan was invited to participate in a series of interview activities held in Guangdong to commemorate the 1911 Revolution100th anniversary. On the interview bus, she happened to meet several colleagues of Southern Newspaper Group and talked with them about the reform of newspaper industry. Colleagues in the Southern Newspaper Industry were very interested in her idea of transnational cooperation in the newspaper industry, so Ma Yan had the opportunity to visit the Southern Newspaper Industry for the first time.
After returning to Thailand, through the matchmaking of Ma Yan, Southern Newspaper Group had more contacts and exchanges with Star Siam Daily, and Southern Newspaper Group further inspected Star Siam Daily, and finally the two sides started the cooperation of transnational newspapers step by step.
At the beginning of this year, Southern Newspaper sent a professional management team to assist the revision of Star Siam Daily. Great changes have taken place in the newspaper, the layout conforms to the international trend, and the news is more timely and readable, which has won the praise of readers.
Become attached to Guangxi,
I hope to cooperate with Guangxi media.
Speaking of it, Ma Yan and Guangxi are also quite predestined friends. She came to Nanning with the Thai delegation of China-ASEAN Expo four times, and she had a good impression on Nanning. At the beginning of May this year, Li Yuanjun, former president of Guangxi Relay Publishing House and general consultant of Yachang Culture Group, and his party collected materials for the large-scale series "Bright Southeast Asian Culture" and went to Bangkok for an interview. Ma Yan contacted the Tourism Bureau of Thailand for them, and wrote more than 20 coordination letters specially, which made the interview go smoothly.
On the eve of the opening of 1 1 China-ASEAN Expo, seven other media reporters from Ma Yan and Thailand came to Guangxi Relay Press to interview Li Yuanjun collectively.
According to Ma Yan, Guangxi Relay Press put forward three main lines of cooperation with Thai media: joint publishing of books, joint operation of Chinese bookstores and joint development of related industries. Now, Ma Yan is actively busy with this.
On June 7th, 10, Ma Yan volunteered to follow the China-ASEAN International Rally from Nanning and started a journey of harmony, friendship and joy.
"Car rally is not a simple sports competition, it covers many other exchanges and activities such as culture and tourism. Following the motorcade, I shared joys and sorrows with "friends", made many friends, enjoyed the splendid history and culture of China, and experienced the great changes brought by China's modernization. The harvest is all-round. " Ma Yan said reluctantly when he left the team.
"Next year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China, and there will be many activities and opportunities for all-round cooperation with domestic media in China. I am also looking forward to cooperating with Guangxi media. If there is an opportunity, I will be a guest at Guangxi Daily Media Group. " Ma Yan said.
